Extreme Makeover – Mom’s Barn Edition August 7, 2010 by Linda Henry
While Mom is visiting Polly in Florida this weekend, Chip, Jim, Keith and Ross decided they would re-roof Mom’s barn as a surprise.
This barn/shed is also known as Pat’s Barn because one summer, when he had nothing else to do, Patrick decided Mom and Dad needed a little barn. I think this was roughly 1985 or so but hopefully Pat or Mom can set the record straight on the date…..
Typically, a small little job to repair the roof became an extreme make-over as the siding and some supports have been munched on by termites. In cleaning out this two floor wonder, all sorts of animal nests and other “sign” were discovered. Looks like the neighborhood raccoons, mice, bats and wasps are going to have to find some other Lake Lucerne home.
The guys hope to finish everything today and so far only Jim had a mishap…..yep, a ladder accident. Thank goodness he is pretty light on his feet, he seems okay.
So……SURPRISE MOM! Hope you enjoy your nice dry barn.
