Shed Tree Day Jan. 12, 2008
This tree was located at the end of the bridge on Shed side.. We started the project at 10:00 AM Saturday and were all done (and cleaned up) by 2:30PM. We filled 5 pickup trucks and our new wood shed. Chip has a new Husquvara chain saw with accompanying head gear. There were five or six chainsaws in total and our new log splitter. You can see (pic) where the bees were.. If we had known the honey bee population was in trouble we could have contacted a local beekeeper to transfer the hive somewhere else.. Don
As you can see from the pictures, there was a wild honeybee nest in the center of the tree. Amazing! Chip brought home honeycomb and it tasted great, just had to strain out the sawdust with your teeth. So, it seems the Property still has many natural wonders for us….and it won’t be long before Morel mushroom season.
