Friends & Family,
Kim has a special cell phone that allows her to receive text messages for free. Unfortunately, a lot of US carriers, including Verizon, are not compatible with her phone. If you want to be able to send her text messages, you can sign up at the website below and send her text messages for 15 cents. You have to send the text messages to her Belgium cell phone number which is 32489963299. It costs her about 50 cents for her to reply to your text message, but nothing to receive your text message.

Hey mom, Yesterday we went to Sambo creek. It’s a beach area outside the city. It was really fun. We went swimming and ate fruit and ¿manchuro? on the beach. Its a really good soup that i would not mind you learning how to make. Its made from coconut milk and there is seafood in it like chonch, lobster, and fish. I split one with my new friend Brian Pryon. Yes his first and last name are almost the same. Today i might go on a two hour mountian bike ride through some poor villages but im not sure if i want to spend the money to do that. Instead me and Brian might go walk around the city and try and figure out how to buy things like food, its more practical since i guess in order to get food in in El Cacoa (village near my project) you have to come to the city (at least that is what my mom Rocio says, but i think she has a very negative additude towards that village) Tomorrow we will have class on the beach in the morning and then spend the rest of the day relaxing there and having a BBQ. Saturday I think we are going to an island called Chios Cuchinos to do some snorkeling and maybe take a scuba diving class. I’m really going to miss going to the school after next week. Its nice having Americans around to explore with and Hector to take us on adventures in the afternoons. I might try and call you later. Love you guys and miss you alot!

07-09-10 via e-mail hey mom and dad I think my plans have changed. Today two people started school who are volunteers at the project with Reid and Patricia. They were telling me that they are living in El Sauce (the neighborhood that i live in) and they take the chicken bus to the project everyday. I think that i might talk to my family and see how much it would cost a week to continue to stay with them for atl east a month or so and then live at the project the rest of the time. I really like La Ceiba and would like to stay longer. Also i wouldnt mind taking another week of spanish classes for $185 depending on what you think. ill try and call you tonight. love you kim
